Shout out to one-time Oklahoma Sooner Tommy Grady, who is now an Arena Football League champion and MVP!
Grady led the Albany Empire over the Philadelphia Soul 45-27 in ArenaBowl XXXII on Sunday to win the title in their second year of existence. The one-time backup to Jason White threw 5 touchdowns, at stat line that would fit right in with any Heisman winning QB in the Stoops or Riley era.
While Tommy didn’t get much of a chance either behind Heisman winner White or after he transferred to Utah, he is an absolute legend in AFL. In addition to an ArenaBowl Championship and game MVP, he picked up his second straight league MVP, making 3 for his career. He also holds multiple passing and touchdown records for the AFL.
