The Sooners defeated James Madison 6-3 on Sunday to set up the decisive semifinal later today. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday evening, but the Florida State – Alabama game that followed OU-JMU was weather delayed. After the FSU-Bama game started, tourney officials announced that if FSU were to win and force a 2nd game, then both games would be pushed to Monday, bumping the start of the final best of 3 championship series to Tuesday.
Florida State prevailed, and the games were moved to dismay of several OU and JMU fans already in the stadium.
The late scheduling change comes after weather delays on Saturday forced late starts to elimination game, including an 11:50pm FSU- OK State start time.OU Coach Patty Gasso was critical of tournament official’s decision not to postpone games after Saturday’s delay.
