What current and former players, staff are saying about the Caleb Williams portal situation

January 3, 2022

If you haven’t already heard the news, Caleb Williams announced Monday afternoon that he intends to enter the transfer portal, and that remaining at OU is still an option.

Several current and former OU players weighed in on the news, with some teammates even offering predictions. Former players also chimed in, with notable input from another OU QB who transferred out.

Trevor Knight, who played at OU through the 2015 season, before moving on to A&M tweeted this:

Wishing @CALEBcsw nothing but the best. That being said, I hope he decides to stay at OU. I was successful as a transfer but it is not a walk in the park and the grass is not always greener. I look forward to him becoming one of the best to ever do it in the crimson and cream.

In response to AD Castiglione and Coach Venables announcement, graduating Sooner Caleb Kelly dropped the following:

You know how powerful you have to be to have the AD and Head Coach to send this out🀭 https://t.co/7SOKvmEH6I
