Wildcats coach Chris Klieman likes his chances for Saturday. Not necessarily of winning the game, but of actually being able to play it.
This is now part of our new game week prep: In addition to thinking about all the possible outcomes of the game, we also get to spend the days leading up to the game wondering if the visiting team will make the trip, and which players on our team will be suiting up.
Nothing is assured until kickoff, of course. But Klieman is feeling good about making the game:
During his weekly radio show on Thursday, Klieman said the Wildcats were gearing up for a Friday departure to Norman after finishing up what he described as an encouraging week of practice.
Unlike earlier in the week, when he expressed some doubt about K-State meeting the Big 12 threshold to play, he happily broke down the Sooners and explained the unique day of travel the team has lined up.

The K-State equipment managers are feeling good, too, sending out this tweet on Friday morning:
Elsewhere, K-State players haven’t forgotten last year’s upset win:
“It was obviously a big win because it was a home win, it was on Homecoming and those things. I guess I don’t ever really look at that as far as where it ranks,” Klieman said. “We have a lot of new offensive linemen and some new guys on defense, so the teams are different. The guys that played in the game, I hope, have some confidence to say that we had some success.
