Nearly 20 years have passed since the attacks on September 11th, 2001. For any of us who lived through that day, we’ll think back on where we were, what we did, what we saw. The images I see are of an undergrad who lived right across from Memorial Stadium, going to class for a few minutes in the morning, then heading back home to spend the rest of the day watching the scenes playing over and over on television. It is finally game week for the Sooners! First up for the 2020 season is the Missouri State Bears. This game was originally scheduled to take place last Saturday, on September 5th. It was then moved a week earlier to August 29th, then finally rescheduled for this Saturday, September 12th. Whew. All this of course, was due to COVID. While other conferences have cancelled or postponed their entire seasons, the Big XII, among others, have rescheduled member games to just include 9 conference opponents, plus one non-conference game. The Athletics Department has revised their game day policies and procedures for our COVID-era football season, including the requirement that masks be worn at all times. Face masks are required to be worn at all times on the OU campus, indoors and outdoors. This includes all campus buildings and outdoor areas, Athletics facilities, parking areas, outside the stadium, gate entry, concourse, stadium seating bowl and club/loge areas.
