The Sooners are one win away from the 2021 Softball National Championship. Led by a shutdown pitching performance by G Juarez, the Sooners evened the series with FSU at 1-1 with a thrilling 6-2 comeback. After the Sooners defeated James Madison Monday afternoon to advance out of the loser’s bracket and return to the WCWS championship series, Alabama and Florida State faced each other to determine the final team for the championship series. FSU jumped on Bama ace Dakota Fouts early, getting a 6-0 lead before Fouts was pulled. The Noles would eventually go up 8-0 in the 3rd before the Crimson Tide battled back to within 3. The Sooners defeated James Madison 6-3 on Sunday to set up the decisive semifinal later today. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday evening, but the Florida State – Alabama game that followed OU-JMU was weather delayed. Unseeded James Madison knocked off 8 seed Missouri 2 games to 1 on Sunday, and will advance to their first ever Women’s College World Series, where they will face the top seeded Sooners in Oklahoma City. JMU has turned into the SEC giant-killer this postseason and is doing it all on the road, beating #9 Tennessee last week in the Knoxville Regional, and now Mizzou in the Columbia Super Regional, 2 games to 1.
